It is getting cold out there and I'm loving every minute of it! There is nothing better than outdoor runs with that crisp air and all the colour change.
I have been debating on which 10K to do in October. It's been a toss up between the Fall Colours and something more for fun, the Nike Human Race. I'm almost positive I'm going to do the NHR.
As much as I would like to do the FC, it's Thanksgiving weekend and it's rare that my mom, sister and I can get together at the same time and I'm not willing to sacrifice some time with them for something I can do 2 weeks later. The other reason, however, is that I'm feeling a little intimidated. I am in no way an athlete or would even consider myself a runner and for that reason I'm feeling a little chicken to run in something a lot of people run competitively, not to mention something where a crowd gathers to cheer. Gulp.
With the NHR, I'm able to just sign up, plug in and zone out by myself and only feel competitive after I sink my results in the quiet of my own place.
I still have quite a bit of time to figure it out and get rid of my nerves. I just need to stay focused and keep my eyes on my goal. I'm hoping that once I've done a 10K, it will give me the confidence to move onto another one and possibly (hopefully) a half!

Good for you for entering the 10K!! I honestly can't imagine running for even 5 minutes right now. Good luck and enjoy!!
