Long Weekend Recap

I usually love long weekends because they are perfect for family and friend visits as well as a great opportunity to get things done. This weekend was completely different. I spent the entire time relaxing. Now that it's Monday evening, I can't get over how badly I needed this time off.

After a long and stressful day at work on Friday, I came home and relaxed with some Hatha yoga. I found the routine on youtube here. I liked the routine because it was relaxing and it was the exact feeling I wanted to carry me through my weekend. After the relaxing little practice, I archived 4700 emails! No joke. Once that task had been achieved, I read through some of my favourite blogs and realized my 10 year goal tweet was chosen for the Lululemon Where Will You Be In 10 Years post. I was elated. ELATED.

My tweet is the last one

I spent Saturday reading a book an enjoying the breeze. I ended the night with some pm yoga.

After a nice relaxing start to the long weekend, I thought I should be productive. I went for a 4 mile run. I had not run for over 4 weeks and was starting to feel nervous about my lack of training for the half marathon I have at the end of the month. I let some negative thoughts take over. When I first signed up for the race in January, I thought I had given myself enough time to train and I set a time goal of completing the race in 2:05. All of my current running stress has come from this set time. My wonderful sister gave me the best advice last week. She told me it didn't matter what my time was because it was such an accomplishment to even complete one. My new goal is to get out there, not pass out and finish the race! The new mind set has been helping. After the 4 mile run, I tried the Yoga X video from the P90X series.

I was 100% skeptical. I've heard nothing but good things about the P90X series and the results I've seen online have all been impressive. My skepticism was about how the series would treat a yoga routine but for a 1 hour and 30 minute video, I was willing to give it a go. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I can't say I was a fan of the instructor but the routine was good and I am planning on using it again.

Today was spent taking step 1 of attaining my goal of working for Lululemon. I went down to the Queen St location and handed in my resume. I walked 5k home and picked up a pumpkin spice latter from Starbucks (so happy they are back!). I was also able to check off more things from my weekend to do list. I wrote down and framed my 1 year goal list and completed my vision board.

I wish this weekend wasn't over tomorrow but I am feeling so relaxed and appreciative of this weekend. It was much needed and I am looking forward to my little but of time off after the half marathon on the 26th.
